”What fascinates me in my work at Zollner is that every employee is given the opportunity to create, to move something.
I came to Zollner as a young engineer in 1998 and was hired as a project leader in the former E5 profit center. Then I was offered a position as team leader in the purchasing department, where I gathered a lot of experience over the next three years. Strategic materials management was founded in 2002 and by means of an assessment center, I qualified for the position of head of capital equipment procurement. Building up this new department offered many opportunities to develop. Right from the beginning, I was able to collaborate in defining which direction we wanted to go.
In the course of the years I took part in lots of tranings and seminars, from auditor training to purchasing seminars and leadership trainings.
An important task during this time was the introduction of our new ERP system. What still appeals to me after all these years is, for example, the challenge to equip new foreign locations or to improve ongoing processes. But it’s really dealing with all the different people, be it in-house or external. Working for Zollner means a lot of freedom, but also great responsibility.
That’s why we’re always looking for team players, open-minded and creative people who are ready to think outside the box.”
