Part of Zollner Electronics’ strategy for the future is to expand its technological capabilities in the area of Box Build and to have a cleanroom for production that meets ISO standards. But the space the US affiliate of Zollner Elektronik AG assumed in Milpitas 7 years ago, when coming to California, with its 50,267 sq. ft., was full of equipment for ongoing work. The time had come to expand in Silicon Valley.
That was not as easy as one might think. The valley is booming, and good, clean manufacturing space close to Milpitas was not to be found. Buildings were either too big, too small or just not the right mix of office and manufacturing space. So Zollner Electronics, Inc. expanded their search and found a suitable building in neighboring Fremont, home to Tesla, just 4.7 miles away.
A new leased building was chosen, in the Bayside Business Park, and with 22,730 sq. ft. of space and a 30% to 70% ratio of office to manufacturing space, it has the right balance. It’s also close to Interstate 880, the binding freeway.
